What do Artists do all Day?

What  do Artists do all Day? Well, I'm finding out via the BBC series on YouTube called, you guessed it,

What do Artists do all Day?

This series was brought to my attention by Artist, Danny Gregory. Thank you!

I highly recommend watching it. The series looks at the fascinating lives of some of the UK's most admired artists. Etchers, painters, sculptors, potters, and something I've never seen before, art through taxidermy... which is both gross and fantastical all at the same time. All this, and I've only watched 6 of the 21 artists in the series so far. I'm hooked.

One of the biggest takeaways I'm getting from this series is the realness of being an admired and famous artist. In my head, I've always had a notion of these elite artists living very exciting and privileged lives. But, what I'm finding out, is for these artists anyway, they're humble, real, and questioning of their own work. It gives me hope, moves me forward, and inspires me to know that this way of thinking is universal for artists. To self-doubt, to be humble in regards of their own work, no matter what medium they are working in, is normal.

Instagram gives us a false reality of what being an artist is all about. It's all shiny, smiley, happy people showing the best of their work. But behind those perfectly curated feeds, there is a whole world of doubts, struggles, and self-reflection. The truth is, being an artist is not always glamorous. It's about the process, the journey, and the constant growth.
