New Year, New Beginnings

Today marks not only the first day of 2023, but also the beginning of my new blog. Time flies by so fast, and for me, it's sometimes hard to remember what happened last week, let alone 3-4 months ago. I'm intrigued with the idea of reading back through this blog next New Year's Day, 2024. So, I will be writing this blog not only for myself, but for other creatives who are interested in what makes up my art practice. It may be an eyeopener for some, or an affirmation for others on what's involved in competing in today's art market. I am by no means an expert on this, and sometimes fly by the seat of my pants, and creative gut instinct, but I think I'm starting to get a handle on this thing we call, "Being an Artist".

Today was a Cranston Gallery clean up day. Taking down Christmas decorations, and setting up a new window display. I travelled to Vancouver to spend Christmas with family, and unfortunately picked up a nasty cold enroute. So this type of work, right now, fits. I haven't been in my studio since I returned on Dec. 29th. Couldn't face it. But today I peered in the windows, and heard the whispers ...

Just a warning to left-brain thinkers... we right-brain creative types are a bit "out there" sometimes...

I will post a new blog each Sunday... I apologise re spelling errors, etc, English is my second language, Art my first.

  • I look forward to following you… I’m undoubtedly many steps behind you, if not miles, but know it’s the most helpful to study those who are carving out a path for themselves. Congrats on all your successes in the past year. You continue to inspire me! 👏🏼 Cheers to the new year! 🥂
